Information for Expecting Parents
Congratulations! Becoming a parent is one of the happiest and most rewarding experiences in life. At Hilliard Pediatrics, we share in your joy and are committed to keeping your baby healthy. We would be honored to walk with you through your journey as your child's pediatrician.
Please note that you do not need to register with our office before your baby is born. We recommend checking with your insurance carrier to confirm that we are in network. Our providers are in network with most commercial insurance policies as well as a few plans from the Marketplace. We are in network with the CareSource Managed Care Plan from Ohio Medicaid, do not take any of the other Medicaid plans or BCMH at this time. Check out our financial information page for more detailed information.
Scheduling a Complimentary Prenatal Visit
We understand the importance of finding a pediatrician that shares your philosophy on the medical care of your child. Our providers are glad to offer group prenatal visits either in person or via Zoom. A prenatal visit is not required, but it gives you the opportunity to meet one of our physicians or nurse practitioners, ask questions and receive guidance. This is a no commitment and 100% free visit.
Our Upcoming Prenatal Classes:
If you would like to register for one of these classes please complete our registration form below. You should receive a confirmation email within 1-2 business days. If the prenatal is virtual, the email will include the Zoom meeting information. If the prenatal is in-person, the email will include directions to the office. If you do not receive this email, please give our office a call (614-777-1800, opt 2) and we will confirm your information and resend the email.
After the Baby Arrives
Once your baby is born, you simply need to notify the hospital staff that you have chosen Hilliard Pediatrics to provide your baby's pediatric healthcare. A hospital-staffed pediatrician will see your newborn while in the hospital, and they will also give you discharge paperwork to bring with you to your first visit with us. Unless the hospital pediatrician recommends otherwise, we typically see babies for their first visit 2-3 days after discharged from the hospital.
Your First Visit
At this visit, we will check the baby's weight and evaluate their feeding as well as answer any questions that you may have.
Please bring a copy of your insurance card, driver's license and discharge paperwork to your first appointment. We recommend bringing insurance cards for both parents as most plans will cover the baby under mom's policy for the first 30 days, regardless of whether that is the plan the baby is being added to.
